Rivercity News – Sunday 5th June 2016

Hi Church!

We are changed but we are still changing!

Think about these words written by Paul, “But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord,
who is the Spirit, makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.”
2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NLT)

We reflect His glory and yet we are still being transformed. We are His workmanship and yet we still need more work.
We are complete in Him and yet we are still being made whole.

This is the journey we are all on – it’s called discipleship. We are all working out our salvation by obeying His word
yet each one of us lives under the canopy of His grace.

We are not perfect but we are becoming more like Him each day. We are not ‘wholly holy’ but He allows us to be
His friends today. Church is not for perfect people, that’s why everyone is welcome.

Bring a friend to church this week.

See you Sunday!

“Do Something Day’ – Wednesday 15 June
There is a campaign supported by The Courier Mail and our local Quest Newspaper to encourage people
to do random acts of kindness, or to volunteer for a church, charity or other organisation on 15 June.

As Christ followers we know that we should show kindness everyday but let’s not miss this opportunity.
We are an integral part of our local community and this great city. Let’s join others and do good!
Let’s show the kindness and love of Jesus in practical ways.

It may only take a few minutes of your time to impact a person’s life.

The campaign organisers want their positive message to go viral. They are requesting you mention it
on social media, post photos or share with others the good thing you did!

We encourage you to do the same on the Rivercity Facebook page. Mention it on Twitter or Instagram as well.
Use this tag at the end of your message #DoSomethingDay or #GiveYourBest
