Over the years Nikki and I have discovered faith to be a journey.
The great reformer Martin Luther King Jnr said it this way:
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”.
When God called us to leave Brisbane and serve in the UK back in 2010,
we took a step of faith not knowing what the outcome would be.
We didn’t have friends, family or the finance to make it happen. I was only offered
a seven month contract that would be reviewed at the next National Conference
to take place in May 2011.
In the natural, our future was uncertain, but by faith it was secure.
We had a word from God that reassured our hearts. We also had prophecies – given
to us years before – that now started to add courage to our steps.
In the same way – when He called us to leave the UK and return to Brisbane to serve
with you here at Rivercity Family Church – He gave us a word, a burden for you and
confirmed it through prophecies.
We can’t see the whole staircase but we are taking the first steps!
Paul said to Timothy “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies
previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,
(19a) having faith and a good conscience… ”
When God speaks to you through His Word or through prophecy, He releases faith in your spirit
and it begins to strengthen you for the journey ahead.
Don’t doubt. Don’t shrink back. Don’t miss the opportunity. Step forward. Be courageous.
Obey the word He gave you.
See you on Sunday!
