We hope your week has got off to a great start. Nikki and I had an enjoyable few days break on
the Sunshine Coast. Thanks to Kristy Meizer, Jane Morgan, Bobby Longtime and James Harcourt
for speaking last Sunday on the theme ‘I Love My Church’, we have heard many positive reports.
Here is a thought for you to ponder this week. What was the most common repeated command that
left Jesus’ lips? Our Lord issued many commands but this one He made more than any other –
Fear Not. He said ‘Don’t be afraid’.
He didn’t look at people with anger and a frown burrowing into His forehead.
He didn’t approach people with a club in hand threatening to punish them.
He didn’t berate people with shouting or ‘bash’ them with His doctrine.
Rather His words dripped with grace and were loaded with truth.
Jesus who is ‘full of grace and truth’ (John 1:14) speaks to our problems, anxieties and concerns with
the words ‘Don’t be Afraid’. Isn’t that good news! In the same way, when His grace is embedded in our
hearts, our desire should be to release the people around us from their fears and concerns.
Paul said this ‘Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you
ought to answer each one.’ Colossians 4:6 (NKJV)
From the abundant grace we have received, let’s impart that grace to others.
See you Sunday
